Pictures from St. John's (circa 1973)

Haircut

This sequence of shots is from a machine in the Winnipeg bus depot as I was waiting for the Beaver bus to take me back to Selkirk. Probably shot after my first seven weeks in captivity, it highlights the fantastic haircut I received from Steve, the barber. The last shot shows you the proper wearing of the St. John's toque as a fashion accessory.

The Stone Building

In many ways the stone building was the face, the keystone of St. John's of Selkirk. It housed administrative offices on the first floor and classrooms on the second floor. The basement was used to manufacture and repair snowshoes during the winter. I remember the floors being very warped from the heat and humidity of the heating system.

Slacking Off

Me in one of my more lucid moments, being propped up by a broom while on duty. This behavior would have earned me three of the best had I been caught by a master. (to translate - I would have received three swats from a teacher for slacking off while on duty)
